HOARE, Sir Richard Colt
(1758–1838)
   A landowner and antiquary best known for his study of ancient Wiltshire, who also traveled through the Mediterranean from 1788 onward and included a search for Etruscan sites in his book A Classical Tour through Italy and Sicily of 1819.
